“This is a case about good faith,” he said. “I have a real compassion for all those who worked at Diablo Canyon.”

SEN. Joe Biden, (D-DE) Senate Majority Leaders: “I just think this has been a case of good faith. I have a real compassion for all those who worked at Diablo Canyon.”
PELOSI: Well, this is a case about good faith. I have a real compassion for all those who worked at Diablo Canyon. I really do.
BIDEN: I’ve been here for three-and-a-half to four hours. I think this is a case about good faith. I’ve been here for three-and-a-half to four hours. I think it’s been a case. The president is putting, I think, good faith. And I think this is a case about good faith. You know, I worked for President Richard Nixon’s and President George H.W. Bush’s. I got there when there was a nuclear plant accident, and it was a horrible thing, as you know, in the Bay Area. And we got together, literally in the Oval Office, with all these nuclear experts, and they told me, “Mr. President, this is not going to be pretty.” It is not a pretty thing. But we got to try. We got to try to save this plant.
(APPLAUSE)
SEN. BIDEN: And try with what? Tell me exactly what you have in mind.
