Westminster Abbey in London

As you can see, the Palace of Westminster (the “Houses of Parliament” – the meeting place for both the House of Commons and the House of Lords, the two houses of the Parliament of the United Kingdom) and the area around it is already fully sold, unless you want to invest in a piece of the Thames. Who knows, this may turn out to be a better investment than the palace itself!.

Most of the tiles have flags on them, indicating the country of origin of the owner. However, some tiles are transparent red. This does not mean that they are available, it just means that the owner has chosen not to disclose his or her country. This can also be seen by clicking on one of those red tiles:

Selecting the Palace of Westminster

In the top right you can now see that the area containing the Palace of Westminster consists of 237 tiles. At the moment of writing, the price of 1 tiles in the UK is $6.890, meaning that the total tile value of the Palace is $1,632.93. Not bad!

By clicking on the details button, some more information is shown:

Details about the selected property

So apparently the property was initially bought for only $23.70 on the first of November 2020 from Earth2 by a user called user184085. On the 16th of December 2020, another user called Happy Place Turf Moor submitted a bid for $30.00, however this bid was not accepted.

You can also see that at the moment, bidding is temporarily disabled. Apparently this is done to prevent the servers of Earth 2 from overloading and once their infrastructure is improved, we can expect bidding to be enabled again.

However, it is still possible to buy new land. Suppose you actually want to buy some square meters of Thames next to the Palace. First you need to click on an empty block. If you want to buy more than one block, you can then move the mouse to increase or decrease the selection. You can select at most 750 blocks per purchase. Once you are satisfied with the selection, click again with the left mouse button and the selection is completed.

If you want a non-rectangular selection of blocks, or even a disjunct set of blocks, you can repeat the selection process. Some “creative” people have discovered that you can use this method to create words or other visuals. Here, I have selected a set of blocks that will read the word “HI”:

As you can see, owning a set of 17 tiles in the UK that are visualized as “HI” isn’t cheap: it will cost you $117.83 at the time of writing. And of course, other people are free to buy adjacent blocks and mangle your visual creation in the process. But suppose you did well in the current Crypto bull market and feel like spending some money, you can now click on details:
